Our Publications & Investigations
Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys
SteroidSafe has been working with the Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys on a publication examining the unmeasured steroid epidemic in the UK. The paper draws on our original investigation into the supply chain, criminal activity, and the pipeline from social media exposure to black market purchase.
Full publication details will be announced here when available.
From our investigation
The following evidence was obtained during our undercover investigation into private chat rooms used to buy and sell anabolic steroids. These are not fringe corners of the internet — they are active, easily accessible groups with thousands of members.
Gateway to violent crime
Steroid supply networks do not exist in isolation. The same chat rooms used to sell steroids are used to advertise weapons. These images show bladed articles being sold alongside anabolic steroids to the same customer base.

Gateway to illicit drugs
The same steroid supply chat rooms are used to sell controlled substances including THC edibles, psilocybin, and prescription-only medications like diazepam — all without prescription, age verification, or quality control.

Contaminated vials
Underground lab steroids have no quality control. These images show contaminated vials obtained during our investigation — visible particulate matter, discolouration, and foreign bodies. This is what users are injecting into their bodies.
