What it is

A DHT-derivative injectable originally developed as a breast cancer treatment. Available in two esters: Masteron Propionate (short-acting) and Masteron Enanthate (longer-acting). It is not a mass builder and has mild anabolic properties relative to other compounds.

What it does

Provides a hardening, drying effect to physique. Does not aromatise (no oestrogen conversion). Often used in cutting cycles for its cosmetic effect. Can provide a mild anti-oestrogenic effect. Mild anabolic effect, so it is not a mass builder.

Typical dosages

300-500mg per week is commonly reported. Propionate requires more frequent injections (every other day) due to the shorter ester. Usually stacked with other compounds due to its weak anabolic properties. This is not a recommendation; it is what is commonly reported.

These figures reflect commonly reported usage in harm reduction communities. They are not recommendations. There is no safe dose of anabolic steroids for non-medical use. Start low and monitor your health through blood work.

Side effects

  • Accelerated male pattern baldness (significantly, in those predisposed)
  • Acne
  • Prostate enlargement risk
  • Suppression of natural testosterone
  • Increased aggression in some users
  • Dry joints (due to anti-oestrogenic properties)

Specific risks

  • Hair loss: Masteron is strongly androgenic and will accelerate male pattern baldness noticeably in anyone with genetic predisposition. This effect can be permanent
  • Stacking risk: because it is a weak anabolic, users often stack it with more potent compounds, increasing overall risk from the total drug load
  • Not suitable standalone: due to weak anabolic properties, using Masteron alone provides minimal benefit while still carrying suppressive and androgenic risks
  • Prostate: as a DHT-derivative, it carries an elevated risk of prostate issues, particularly with prolonged use

What to watch for

  • Hair shedding or thinning (often the first sign of androgenic impact)
  • Prostate symptoms (difficulty urinating, frequent urination, especially at night)
  • Joint pain or dryness (related to anti-oestrogenic effect)
  • Monitor testosterone levels to ensure adequate base is maintained
