Insulin

Also known as: Slin

The single most dangerous compound in bodybuilding. Can kill within minutes through hypoglycaemia. There is no margin for error. This profile exists for awareness, not as a harm reduction pathway.

Half-Life

Rapid-acting: ~4-6 hours. Regular: ~6-8 hours.

Detection

Not applicable. Indistinguishable from endogenous insulin in standard testing.

What it is

A peptide hormone normally produced by the pancreas to regulate blood sugar. Used in advanced bodybuilding stacks to drive nutrients into muscle cells. Available in rapid-acting and longer-acting forms. This is not a recreational compound. It has killed experienced users.

What it does

Dramatically increases nutrient uptake into muscle tissue. Promotes rapid mass gain when combined with HGH and anabolic steroids. Works by forcing glucose and amino acids into cells, which can accelerate muscle growth but also fat storage if nutrition is not precisely managed.

Typical dosages

Dosage information is deliberately not provided in detail here. Insulin dosing errors can cause coma and death within minutes. This compound exists in this guide for awareness, not as a harm reduction pathway. If someone is determined to use insulin, they must seek direct guidance from someone with verifiable experience and have immediate access to fast-acting carbohydrates at all times.

These figures reflect commonly reported usage in harm reduction communities. They are not recommendations. There is no safe dose of anabolic steroids for non-medical use. Start low and monitor your health through blood work.

Side effects

  • Hypoglycaemia (dangerously low blood sugar), which can cause confusion, seizures, coma, and death
  • Fat gain (almost inevitable without extremely precise nutrition timing)
  • Insulin resistance with prolonged use
  • Water retention
  • Lethargy and drowsiness

Specific risks

  • Death: insulin overdose causes hypoglycaemia, which can lead to coma and death within minutes. There is no margin for error. This has killed experienced bodybuilders
  • Type 2 diabetes: long-term exogenous insulin use can cause insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes
  • No reversal without preparation: if hypoglycaemia occurs and fast-acting carbohydrates are not immediately available, the consequences can be fatal before emergency services arrive
  • Unpredictable response: individual sensitivity to insulin varies enormously. A dose that is manageable for one person can be lethal for another

What to watch for

  • Shaking, sweating, confusion, dizziness, rapid heartbeat (signs of hypoglycaemia, requires immediate fast-acting carbohydrates)
  • Blurred vision or difficulty concentrating after injection
  • Never use insulin alone. Always have someone nearby who knows what you have taken and what to do
  • Keep fast-acting carbohydrates (glucose tablets, juice, sweets) within arm's reach at all times
  • Fasting blood glucose trending upward on blood work (sign of developing insulin resistance)
